SPRINGER takes over GIS Industrial Automation Specialist from Upper Austria for industrial automation and control cabinet manufacturing

(Friesach/Carinthia, July 28, 2022) The SPRINGER Group, a world-leading technology supplier for the wood industry, has acquired 90% of the shares in GIS Industrieautomation GmbH. The company, based in Herzogsdorf/Upper Austria, specializes in planning, engineering, automation, PLC programming, control cabinet construction and industrial assembly. GIS Industrieautomation employs around 50 specialists and has extensive national and international reference projects, with a focus on the sawmill and wood industry (www.gis-automation.at).

This novel sawmill solution represents a milestone in the wood processing industry and offers an efficient, space-saving and sustainable alternative for companies worldwide.

The SAWBOX redefines the standards in sawn timber production. The compact design enables all work steps to be carried out in a compact processing center through the use of robot technology, resulting in efficient production with minimal space requirements. In contrast to conventional sawmills, in which a tree trunk travels a long way through various machines, in the SAWBOX all processing steps are carried out in one operation. This enables efficient production with just one employee.
